Advent Netbook
by Ashley
If you are looking for a really useful electronic gadget then the Advent netbook is great. I've had my net book for about sixteen months now and it is great as a back up computer. I also use the net book if I want to work at the local library or coffee shop or if I am going away. The netbook is small enough to fit into my purse and has about two and half hours of battery life, which is ok if you don't have too much work to do.
Considerations
Some people may prefer a netbook that has more battery life as it can be a pain to have to charge it on a regular basis. Not all of the Advent netbooks come with Windows installed, which is a pain if that is what you are used to working with. It's pretty lightweight and won't stand much rough treatment. The net book has only two USB ports, but for most people that is sufficient for their needs. It only has a nine inch screen and some people may be put off by that.
Benefits
The Advent is a slim line, lightweight netbook that is easy to carry around and comes in several colors. If you want a portable machine for when you go away then the Advent is ideal. The machine is WiFi ready, which means you can access the internet wherever there is a WiFi hotspot. It doesn't have a large hard drive, but if most of what you want it for is text based, or you want to watch the occasional movie on the machine, that won't matter much. At around $300 the netbook is not expensive and it is ideal for people who use the internet for work and need to be able to take their work with them.
