What is it? It is an audio baby monitor consisting of a child unit and a parent unit. The main strength of this monitor is that it uses DECT 6.0 technology for transmission between the child and parent units. The result is high quality audio sounds, free of static and the dreaded interference from other sources.

What is so special about DECT 6.0 technology? First, DECT 6.0 operates at the 1.9 GHz band. What this means is that is unlikely to interfere with your existing wireless equipment. For example wi fi networks, many cordless phones and microwave ovens operate at the 2.4 GHz band. Many existing baby monitors operate in the 900 MHz and the 2.4 GHz bands. If a baby monitor operates in the 900 MHz or the 2.4 GHz band, there is an increased chance of interference from these other devices or other baby monitors. Since relatively few household devices currently operate in the 1.9 GHz band, the chance of interference is greatly reduced. Secondly, DECT uses dynamic channel allocation. This basically means that the connection channel is not pre-assigned. Each connection automatically selects an unused channel. What it also means is that even if there are other DECT devices at home operating at the 1.9 GHz band, there will not be mutual interference between them. For more information, see this wikipedia article about DECT.
