What is it? It is a multi-purpose beverage chiller. It can be used to rapidly chill all types of beverages contained in cans and bottles. Chilling to 43F/6C (normal refrigerator temperature) takes only:
- 1 minute for Cans
- 3.5 minutes for Bottles
- 6 minutes for 750mL Wine Bottles
This is much faster than chilling them in a freezer: 40 times faster for cans and 10 times faster for wine.
How do you use it? Simple. First add ice cubes and water to the unit. Then place the drink you want to chill into it. Select the appropriate settings on the touchpad panel. Press start and the beverage rotates while it is being sprayed with ice cold water. When the unit stops (automatically), take your drink out and enjoy!
Here are the settings that are available on the touchpad:
- Bottle, Can, Wine : Choose one of these depending on your drink: Can for aluminium cans, Bottle for glass or plastic bottles, Wine for wine bottles or thicker glass containers.
- Extra: Choose this if you want to bring the temperature down to 34F/1C for an ice cold drink.
- No Spin: Choose this if you are chilling non-cylindrical or non-rotatable containers.
Choosing either the Extra or No Spin setting lengthens the usual chilling time.
Why this beverage chiller? There are a number of wine chillers out there in the market. However many of them use the Peltier/thermo-electric system for chilling. It basically uses cold air, instead of cold water, to chill the bottle. Unfortunately cold air is a lot less effective than cold water for chilling and as a result, it may take a couple of hours for this type of chillers to chill down your wine!
What other use is there? You can use Cooper Cooler to act as a quick baby bottle warmer. Pour hot tap water (less than 131F/55C and NEVER boiling water) into the unit, place the baby bottle into the unit, and press the Can button. Note: You must always check the temperature of the baby food before giving it to a child.
