What is it? It is an alarm clock with a difference, using light to help you wake up and fall asleep. It has a white noise option to ease you into your sleep. It also comes with an mild alarm beeper which can be optionally set. The opal glass globe houses a 60 watt incandescent bulb inside and the base uses digital display.
How does a sunrise clock wake one up? In the morning light enters through the eyelids and triggers the body to begin its wake-up cycle. By the time the light reaches its full intensity, the person sleeping wakes up on his/her own.

- Simulated sunrise for waking up: Light increases gradually within a preset period till the time of waking up when it reaches its full intensity. The default preset period is 30 minutes but can also be set to 15, 60 or 90 minutes.
- Simulated sunset for falling to sleep: Light decreases gradually from its current intensity within a preset period. At the end of the preset period the light will either go out or be at a much reduced intensity if you have selected nightlight. The preset period can be 15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
- White noise can be optionally switched on during sunset. It can be programmed to fade out as the sunset light goes out, or stay on all night.
- An alarm beeper can be optionally set to sound at the time of waking up. This is a backup feature just in case the light does not wake you up.
- Snooze feature: Once pressed, the alarm will go off in 9 minutes.
- Unit can be used as a bedside reading lamp or soft lighting with adjustable intensity.
- Security feature: If set, the light will come on and off randomly between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. It is useful when you are away on vacation.
