What is it? BOB is a device which manages the TV watching or computer playing time for your child. It automatically turns off the TV or computer monitor connected to it, after the set time allocated to the child has been used up.
How does it work? Let us use watching TV as an example. Your kid is allocated a pin code and a specific time limit (daily or weekly) to watch TV. To switch on the TV, he first has to key in his pin code. BOB internally tracks the time. When his allocated time is used up, BOB switches the TV off automatically.
What are the main features of BOB TV Time Management System?
- It controls the power supply to the TV/computer monitor. The TV plug is connected to BOB and locked in with a key. BOB is in turn connected to the wall outlet. This ensures that your kid cannot pull the TV plug off BOB and connect it directly to the wall socket. It is not possible to circumvent BOB!
- Parent uses a master account to set up the user accounts (for the children).
- It supports 6 user accounts (children), each one with a unique 4 digit pin code and individually set time limits.
- The time limit can be set on a daily or weekly basis. If your kid has discipline, allocate on a weekly basis. If your kid lacks it however, allocate on a daily basis.
- Time blocks (preventing usage during specific times of the day) can be specified.
- Parent, using the master account, can extend or shorten the set time limits of the child account on the fly (i.e. while he/she is watching the TV) if necessary.
- Parent, using the master account, can see report of time spent and time remaining for each child user.
- It gives an audible warning that starts when 60 seconds remain.
- It enforces the time limit by turning off the TV or computer monitor when the set time is used up.
