Two Slice Toaster

This two slice toaster from Back to Basics has a very unusual feature: it can poach egg and heat up pre-cooked meat too! This makes it very easy to make things like egg and sausage muffins, just like what you would get for breakfast at major fast food restaurant chains.

What is it? It is an innovative two slice toaster which combines the functions of a toaster, egg cooker and meat warmer into a single appliance. These functions can be used separately or simultaneously. When used simultaneously, a full breakfast sandwich can be ready in about 4 minutes.

What are the main features of the Back to Basics Egg-and-Muffin Toaster?

How do you use it? Using the toasting function is quite simple.

1. Put the bread/muffin/bagel etc into the toasting slots.
2. Move the browning control lever to desired toasting level.
3. Push the Toast button.
4. Pull down the carriage lever.
5. Toast pops up automatically when it is done.

Using the egg poaching and/or meat warming function is also straightforward. See diagram above.

1. Add 2 to 2.5 teaspoons of water into the heating tray.
2. Put the steamer tray on top of the heating tray.
3. Lightly coat the poaching tray with oil.
4. Break an egg into the poaching tray and place the poaching tray on the steamer tray.
5. Place pre-cooked meat on the warming tray (if required) and stack it on top of the steamer tray.
6. Place the lid on top of the warming tray.
7. Push the Egg button.
8. When the poaching is done, the appliance switches off automatically.

To use all the functions simultaneously, simply prepare the bread/muffin, egg and meat as in the steps above and then press the Egg/Toast button instead. When both the toasting and the poaching are done, the toast pops up automatically and the appliance switches itself off.

How do you use it to cook up to 4 eggs?

1. Add water into the heating tray with the amount depending on the number of eggs to be cooked and the desired consistency i.e. soft, medium, hard.
2. Rinse the eggs and pierce a hole in each of the eggs.
3. Place the eggs on the steamer tray, which is in turn placed on top of the heating tray.
4. Place the lid on top of the steamer tray. Note that the poaching and the warming trays are not required.
5. Press the Egg button.
